Services

As many of you know already, a lush-beautiful lawn requires a great deal of effort. Your satisfaction is our goal. Upon considering a new customer we consider several factors such as general condition of the turf and landscape beds, drainage and slope, pests, and shade. A well drained and fertile soil will produce healthy and vibrant turf grasses and ornamentals.

We begin with an accurate soil sample for each lawn we carry as an annual monthly account. For our annual accounts we do not charge for this service; but, we still offer the soil sample at a reasonable cost to anyone requesting this service. The soil sample tells recommended amounts of limestone to adjust soil, pH and also fertilizer recommendations for the seed or cultivar to be planted. A nematode test can also be done with recommendations of threshold numbers and actions to take.

Our most basic service is to cut and trim lawn grass, trim hedges; edge concrete surfaces and outline beds; and blow drives, curbs, walks, patios and porches. We offer weekly, every 10 days, and bi-weekly visits with some customers paying at time of service or monthly for our residential customers. Our commercial customers pay monthly on account under contract. We offer discounts to senior and handicapped customers. We also discount for annual contracts residential or commercial.

Landscape structures such as gazebos, bridges, decks, greenhouses, utility sheds, and shelters can be built on site to add function, value, and beauty. We work with a licensed electrician to offer power to these structures and also landscape lighting.

Another landscape feature we offer is pools and ponds. Waterfalls, streams, and fountains can be put into most any existing pool or pond. We also offer installation of new pools made of concrete, shaped liners, or pre-formed shells. We also offer water testing and pool maintenance to our customers at a very reasonable rate. A secluded location with the sound of running water bubbling, birds singing, and the movement of goldfish and koi breaking the water surface , can cause the cares of this life to be left behind for just a moment to relax in a swing, hammock, or on bench or chair.

The last two services we offer are irrigation and rainwater collection systems. Irrigation systems have been in area over 20 years. Upgrade features such as recycled water have been out for over 10 years now. As new advances have emerged, people have seen the vision of a green lawn in the summer -thus bringing in irrigation. With irrigation , new utility services followed with recycled water lines and the new vision of a water bill without sewage charged soon became a reality. The newest upgrade in our area is rainwater collection systems.

Rainwater collection has been around for centuries. Ancient people carved out cisterns in drainage paths to collect water for later use. In dry climates the idea is an absolute necessity. In areas, such as ours in eastern N.C., being plagued by drought, rainwater collection is fast becoming our next irrigation upgrade. Think about it-get a vision of a green lawn without or with a greatly reduced recycled water bill.

In a years time, in our climate we receive between 40-50 inches of rainfall each year. Some of this resource can be easily captured in an above ground or underground tank or simply a rain barrel under a down spout. Those of you with gutters already installed are ahead of the curve. Simple filters screen out roof debris and leaves at 2 points and a more complex filter channels the water into the collection tank. A½ to 1 hp pump can charge this water, with adequate p.s.I., to operate your irrigation field. This allows you to closely monitor the amount you use from the utility by way of a manual or electronic gate valve. Tank sizes from 100 gal as rain barrels, up to 150 gal-1400 gal above ground units, and 1700 gal-100,000 gal units can be installed underground for most any water need. We can install tanks individually or in chains to eliminate or greatly diminish effects of drought. So lets get the vision of this untapped resource and take advantage of this opportunity before the next drought is upon us.
